HEAVEN IS A LONG HELLO

ALREADY IN YOUR HANDS

When you find yourself listing all the reasons that you can’t do something that you sense God wants you to do, remember God’s question to Moses (actually in the form of instructions). There will be times when that will happen to you. You and I will come up with questions, concerns and reasons we should do something else or nothing at all. That’s when we should “look what God has put in our hands”.

COLUMBUS DAY – LESSON

Columbus Day is a holiday in the United States that commemorates the landing of Christopher Columbus. His mission was to chart a western sea route to China, India and the fabled gold and spice islands of Asia. He did not reach what he wanted but on the other hand had discovered a new world. There is an important lesson here.

Early Jewish Christians, referred to themselves as “The Way”. As I looked up these words in scripture, it is interesting how that it is not only a description or name of a group of New Testament believers but the combination of those two words can also refer to people going a specific direction and/or acting in a specific manner. As we listen to some passages that I’ve collected, there are clear parallels between them.

POWER OF MUSIC

BUCKET LIST – LORD WILLING

Do you make a “list” for things you want and/or need to accomplish? The young, or ‘young at heart’ make a list of dreams and goals. When folks get older or due to health issues, they realize that their time is short, they sometimes make a “bucket list”. Scripture provides some pretty good guidance/instructions for us regarding our goals and desires.

MAKE TIME TO BE HOLY

Take Time To Be Holy. Reality is that we actually have to MAKE time to be Holy. God makes it clear that His priests and their garments need to be Holy, dedicated to Him. And all believers are to be Holy as He is Holy. It is important and takes effort on our part, although only God, Himself can make that happen.

REDEEM THE TIME

We must ‘redeem the time’. It is extremely important. Some of the reasons why include: the fact that Christ has redeemed us, we are in spiritual warfare every day and redeeming the time is an opportunity, our privilege, indeed it is our God given resonsibility.

HEAVENLY REMINDERS

It is time for a Heavenly Reminder. Our hearts and minds should be set on heaven. The reason we can be excited about heaven is that God provided a way for us to escape the penalty for our sin which is death and eternal judgement in hell. As a Christian, this world is not our home. By God’s grace, Heaven is our home, our ultimate address.
